She works at the Washington State Department of Health in the Center for Epidemiology Practice, Equity and Assessment, where she coordinates the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System—a foundational population health survey. Rachelle also serves as the chief steward for the Department of Health and has been an active delegate to the Thurston Lewis Mason Central Labor Council (TLMCLC) for over a decade, serving on its board for eight years and currently holding the position of president. Prior to working for WA DOH, Rachelle worked with communities while employed at Timberland Regional Library as a paraprofessional children's librarian and operations supervisor for over 13 years.
As a state-certified mediator specializing in high-conflict and equity issues, Rachelle is committed to building safe, respectful communities by fostering solidarity through direct action. She is also the president of CascadiaNow, where she supports project leaders through a fiscal sponsorship model that reflects her belief in empowering individuals to discover and own their "right task" within a collective mission. Through all her roles, Rachelle remains driven by a passion for collaboration and community-building, creating vibrant spaces where everyone can thrive.
Above all, her proudest role is being the mother of two incredible daughters.
